Research

Our research focusses on structural bioinformatics: developing tools to investigate and understand the relationship between protein sequence, structure and function.
Within this general area, our main interests are protein modelling, structural analysis, structural immunology, effects of mutation on protein structure and disease, application of relational databases, automation and software development. In particular, we have an interest in the sequence and structure of antibodies.
Specific projects include:

  • analysis of antibody sequence and structure
  • antibody modelling
  • structural effects of mutations
  • databases for immunology
  • software development
  • metal binding

New Software

We have just developed a simple web page for doing bulk annotation of antibody sequences to identify the CDRs. This is currently a test version, so feel free to try it and let us know how it works for you.
